12 Kagay-anon Boxers Now Part of Philippines’ National Boxing Team

12 Kagay-anon Boxers are now part of the national boxing team

In an article by Cagayan de Oro City Philippines, 12 Kagay-anon boxers are officially part of the country’s national boxing team.

Kagay-anons who are now showcasing their strength and endurance in international and national boxing arena include Carlo Paalam, John Vincent Pangga, Daniel Maamo, Marvin Tabamo, Mark Lumbab, Sugarey Ocania, James Ian Pangga, Regemelyr Namocatcat, Jurdgs Nuez, Judelyn Casin, Gina Casin and Gemma Baja.

Cagayan de Oro City Boxing Team Head Coach Elmer Pamisa said that the success of the 12 boxers was because of good impression of some of the national boxing coaches to the development of amateur boxing scene in the city and in the province of Misamis Oriental under the administration of Mayor Oscar Moreno who was also the then governor of the province.

Aside from the recent feats of the new national boxing team members, pioneering Kagay-anon boxers are reaping the fruits of labors in bigger boxing events inside and outside of the country. Notable examples are Milan “El Metodico” Melindo who earned the IBF Junior Flyweight Championship Title and brothers Jason “El Niño” Pagara and Prince Albert Pagara, all went under the tutelage of the coaches of the city’s local boxing program before.
