In a report from Sunstar Cagayan de Oro, at least 17 police officers from Cagayan de Oro Police Office (COCPO) were ordered to plant trees at Punta Silum, Barangay Bonbon as a penalty for their offenses last March 14, 2017.

The police officers were ordered to plant 30 seedlings of mangrove trees since they have committed violations in their service such as absences, tardiness, failure to attend sessions, and not wearing proper uniform.

However, only 13 officers were in attendance during the planting activity as the other four were on training as a mandatory for their eligibility for promotion.

According to the report, one offense is one demerit points and those who have accumulated 20 demerit points for a month would compel to serve delinquency reports to their officers.
