In an article posted by Bombo Radyo Cagayan de Oro, three individuals who claimed to be members of the New People’s Army (NPA) were arrested after packets of shabu and several other firearms were found in their  possession today, August 10, in an entrapment operation inside an inn in Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City.

The suspects were identified as Reynaldo Lomonggo, Ryan Bagas from Laguindingan and Jonalou Bughaw from Jasaan, Misamis Oriental.

According to the Chief of Carmen Police station, C/Insp Ritchie Salva, the three were arrested after trying to extort 20-million pesos cash to one of the Philippine Red Cross officials.

During the operation, the police got hold of 3 suspected shabu, a caliber 38, cash and a notebook where the victim’s names have been listed.

Lomonggo said that he was not involved in the extortion as he will merely get the money from the other two suspects. However, Bagas said that he was just sent in by Lomonggo along with his partner to rescue him because he doesn’t have enough cash to pay his hotel bill.

On the other hand, the partner of Bagas,  Bughaw claimed that he did not mean to be at the place of the incident and insisted that he was not supposed to be captured by the police even though it was found out that he is the owner of the notebook where the other suspects writes the names of their targets.
