In an article posted by Bombo Radyo Cagayan de Oro, the water crisis in Cagayan de Oro has been felt by at least 80% of the city.

Assistant General Manager of Cagayan de Oro Water District (COWD)  Engr. Bienvenido Batar Jr. requested the public to be more understanding about the water shortage, particularly those who are living in parts of the city where a “10-day water pipe repair” are being conducted to fix the water leakage of their pipe lines along the Cagayan de Oro River.

He added that the COWD was alarmed when it learned about the pipe leakage for fears that it might lead to water contamination epidemic.

Batar disclosed that the entire consumer area at ​​Barangay Bulua and the area of ​​Opol, Misamis Oriental will be losing water supply. He also said that a shortage of water supply to loss of water will be experienced in Barangays Kauswagan, Carmen, Lumbia, Bonbon, Bayabas, and Iponan.
