AFP Encourages Lumads To Undergo Military Training


In an article posted by, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) urged more lumads or those coming from indigenous communities in the country to join the military so that they could also protect their communities against the forces of the rebels.

According to 4ID Commander Major General Ronald Villanueva, joining the ranks of the military is a privilege for lumads be trained on how to protect and help their communities while preventing rebels from exploiting them.

To date, there are already 115 candidate soldiers wherein 15 of them are lumads who will soon undergo a military training at the 4th Infantry Division (4ID) Camp Evangelista, Barangay Patag, Cagayan de Oro City.

The candidates are composed of 95 males and 20 females all coming from Northern Mindanao and Caraga Regions who will undergo the selection process.
