Last August 6, 2016, a meeting was held attended by representatives from Pacific Paint (Boysen) Philippines and Cagayan de Oro Second District Engineering Office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), with Councilor Zaldy Ocon who is the chair of the committee on public works.

The meeting was meant to discuss Boysen Philippines’ offer to repaint pedestrian overpasses, flyovers and island railings in Cagayan de Oro, with them to provide all of the necessary materials and labor for the completion of the repainting works. And in return, a proposed memorandum of agreement (MOA) shall be provided which states that the city shall allow the company to install its tagline and logo on the railings and footbridge, similar with the MOA they have forged with the government of Davao City.

The said proposal has already been referred to the City Legal office and City Mayor’s Office by the City Council committee on laws and rules presided by Councilor Ian Mark Nacaya.

And in order to abide with the DPWH standards, DPWH District Engineer Anastacio G. Marundan said that beige and brown should be used for repainting the pedestrian overpass, while striped black and white for flyovers.
