Cagayan de Oro Port: Busiest Port in the Philippines Next to Manila Port

In a report from the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) central office in Manila last June 10, Friday, in a span of 3 months from January to March, the Cagayan de Oro Port was able to handle 1,398,968 metric tons which is third only to the Manila North Harbor and the Manila International Container Terminal making it the third busiest port in the Philippines and the busiest outside Metro Manila.

622,499 MT of incoming traffic and 605,372 MT of outbound cargo consists the total domestic freight of 1,227,871 MT. This information is based on Cagayan de Oro Port’s quarterly report from the PPA central office.

The city’s main port area, the Macabalan Port here in the city, it handled a total of 150,607 MT of imported goods and 20,490 MT of export products on the same period. Meanwhile, the Manila North Harbor was able to handle 5,557,761 MT of shipments traffic versus 3,746,201 of Manila International Container Terminal.
