6 Carnappers From Marawi City Arrested in CDO

Police arrested 6 members of the organized criminal syndicate responsible for a series of thefts of motorcycles in Cagayan de Oro City on February 1, Wednesday.

According to a report from Bombo Radyo, the police caught the suspects attempting to steal 2 motorcycles parked on two separate hospitals.

The suspects were identified by Divisoria Police Station commander  Sr Insp Maricris Mulat as Ismael Alil, Mahid Muntulan, Mansawi Lantong, Anwar Aluyudan, Ansano Guro Alim and Amerodin Acmad who are all from Marawi City.

Alil and Muntulan were first arrested while the four others were apprehended during the pursuit operation.

3 motorcycles and a red Toyota Revo with a plate no. AEJ 567, which was used by suspects to escape, were recovered by the authorities.

Meanwhile, the suspects denied the alleged carnapping incidents happening in the city. Though they were caught in the act stealing a motorcycle at the Divisoria as shown in the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage.

Alim has also defended himself saying that it was his first time visiting the city and that he doesn’t know the illegal activities done by his companions. He also said that he is only a mere construction worker in Marawi City.
