14 Jun Kagay-anon Carolyn Pascual is the New Defending Champion of Showtime’s “Tawag ng Tanghalan”
A contender from Mindanao became the newest champion in Showtime’s “Tawag ng Tanghalan” defeating the former defending title holder Rein Carmelita Pineda. She is none other than Carolyn Pascual, a Kagay-anon and resident of Macanhan, Cagayan de Oro.
Before she battled with the defending champion Pineda, she sang the song “Hurt” by The Manhattan defeating her other 2 contenders.
Pascual’s winning song was the OPM classic “Bakit Ako Mahihiya” where she got a final score of 92.2% from the judges, close to Pineda’s score where she sang her own version of Daniel Padilla’s “Nasa ‘Yo Na Ang Lahat”.
Carolyn Pascual is a freelance band vocalist and her reason in joining “Tawag ng tanghalan” is for her to be able to provide more for her teenage daughter.
Being the defending champion, she must win 5 consecutive battles before making it to the finals of “Tawag ng Tanghalan”.
