Catholic Church In Maguindanao Allegedly Burned By BIFF

In an article posted by Sunstar.com, a group of Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) have allegedly burned a church in Barangay Labu-Labu, Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao province last Sunday, November 12 around 8:20 in the evening.

According to reports from the Maguindanao Police Provincial Office, the rebel group entered the San Isidro Labrador Church and afterwards burned it under the leadership of Esmail Abdulmalik or also known as also known with his alias “Kumander Abu Torayfe”.

The terrorists also broke the statues of several saints inside the church. When the group learned about the arrival of authorities, they immediately went away to escape.

After the rebels escaped, firefighters have immediately responded to stop the fire.

On the other hand, Maguindanao Governor Esmael “Toto” Mangudadatu said that the provincial government is willing to give reward money to anyone who can tipped them of the whereabouts of the suspects.

As of this writing, the authorities are furthering their investigations regarding the incident.
