In an article posted by Sunstar.com, Cagayan de Oro celebrated the 25th National Children’s Month themed “Bata: Iligtas sa Droga” last Tuesday, November 7 in Kiosko Kagawasan, Divisoria.

The City Government together through the City Council for the Protection of Children (CCPC) and the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) ushered the event.

According to the Vice President of CCPC Minda Domingo, the National Children’s Month celebration happened to commemorate the Philippines’ adoption of the United Nation’s Convention on the Rights of the Child.

During the celebration, the Council for the Welfare of Children, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Regional Committee for the Welfare of the Children (RCWC), the CCPC and CSWD also launched the Parental Responsibility Code of City Ordinance 13195-2017 or Parental Responsibility Code of Cagayan de Oro.

During the event, several activities were conducted such as two Poster making Contests from the theme “Bata” Illigtas sa Droga” and another one from the Parental Responsibility Code and a theater contest.

Moreover, the awarding ceremony of the Child-Friendly Police Station and Child-Friendly Barangay will be the culmination of the celebration on November 29.
