CdeO City Councilor Reuben Daba appealed to the members of the Cagayan de Oro City council to show generosity in extending help to the victims of the recent fire incident at Palaña Grocers- Hotel Conchita area near  Cogon Market.

In an article from Sunstar.com, Councilor Daba said that not only the employees of the two establishments should be the concern of the city but also the owners who lost millions to the fire.

Daba added that the owners and proprietors of the business establishments can be assisted through a special tax credit as both are said to be faithful taxpayers of the city.

Aside from that, he also urged the council to speed up the passing of a resolution that will help the 400 employees who are affected by the fire using the funds from the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) of the executive department.

Under the AICS, each employee could receive P1,500 each based on the result of a profiling process which will be conducted by the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD).

On the other hand, City Councilor and chairman of the committee George Goking said that the proposal of Councilor Daba will still be undergoing further studies and deliberations before being passed.
