The city government of Cagayan de Oro City extended its help to the Internally Displaced Families (IDPs) of the ongoing military crisis in Marawi City.

In an article from CDO Infonet, the Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information of City Social Welfare Development (CSWD) listed almost 7,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) who evacuated from Marawi City. With that, city Administrator Dionnie Gersanan spearheaded a meeting on how to organize the assistance program for the affected individuals.

To make the whole process easier, CSWD has released family access cards which will be presented by IDPs to the City Hospital and the City Health Office to claim their medical assistance.

Large concentrations of IDPs found at select barangays were also given medical assistance to avoid the hassle of going to hospitals.

The agency also has been extending help to the IDPs after the crises happened in Marawi City by giving relief goods and other services.

Additionally, there are 27 home-based evacuation centers in Cagayan de Oro City where the affected victims temporarily reside.
