31-year-old Kagay-anon marathon runner Paul James Zafico finished first and won in the 1st ever Salomon XTrail Cebu leg yesterday, October 15, at the Foressa Trails, Balamban, West Cebu.
In an article by cebudailynews.inquirer.net, Zafico managed to bring home the championship trophy despite his crossing commitment between his work and his training for the sports event.
Zafico shared that he always arrived late for work because right after his work shift ended, he would always give an ample of time for practice resulting to lesser time for sleep. However, he was proud and thankful that he finished first in the 21-kilometer marathon race.
True enough to his determination to hit his goal, he finished the race in two hours, 41 minutes, and 12 seconds against other racers allowing him to feel even more motivated for his another marathon event on December in the 41st National Milo Marathon Grand Finals set to happen in Cebu City.
