A mixture of veteran and young golfers, the Pueblo Ladies golf team of Cagayan de Oro City won multiple gold medals in the 2017 Championship Infinity LuzViMin Ruby Division of the Women’s Golf Association of the Philippines (WGAP) at the Mimosa Golf and Country Club in Clark Airbase Angeles, Pampanga.
In an article from Sunstar.com, the all-women golfers team defeated all their contenders and ultimately brought home the championship trophy along with gold medals in their individual games in the Ruby Division.
Different other teams from Manila, Bacolod, Forest Hills, Tagaytay Highlands, and Davao did not match the careful and calculated swings of the Pueblo Ladies.
The team is made up of CdeO’s top golf hitters, Gladys Gaccion Opitz, Chit Lastimosa, Terry Solitaria and team captain Jenny Chua.
Also completing the lineup are junior golfers Alethea Paige Gaccion (10 years old), Iya Borlongan (12 years old), and Christine Chua (17 years old).
In addition, Alethea will be joining in a golf tournament in the US next month and will be flying with some family members and the Pueblo Ladies’ team coach Lino Retuerto.
