THE city government led by City Mayor Oscar Moreno joined today’s (March 13, 2017) opening ceremony of the week-long celebration of the 75th anniversary of General Douglas MacArthurs’ Breakout from Corregidor to Australia with the re-enactment of MacArthur’s arrival in Macabalan Pier when he rode the PT Boat to Cagayan, Misamis and reached Australia.
The week-long celebration spearheaded by the Cagayan de Oro City Historical & Cultural Commission (Hiscom) under the chairmanship of Dr. Erlinda Burton.
On March 14-17 at 8AM and 10AM, moviegoers will be treated to “Unsurrenderd 2” and “Valor:The Legacy of Col. Emmanuel V. De Ocampo” by the Film Production Company Spyron-AV Manila for free, in all Centrio Ayala Cinemas, Symposium on March 14-17, 2017 at Centrio Activity Center, Exhibits on March 15-17,2017 at Centrio Activity Center, Eyesight 20/20 Eyecare Optometric Mission on March 15-16 at JR Borja General Hospital and Thanksgiving Mass & 75th Jubilee Commemorative Program on March 17 at St. Augustine Metropolitan Cathedral & Casa Real at VIP Hotel.
