Five CDO Policemen Accused of Kidnapping Relieved From Service

In a report by Sun.Star, 5 policemen from Cagayan de Oro were relieved from service by Northern Mindanao Police Regional Director Chief Superintendent Noel Constantino, last November 10, 2016, Thursday, after they were accused of being involved in an alleged kidnapping incident.

The relieved policemen who were identified by city police director Senior Superintendent Ronnie Francis Cariaga are as follows:

  • Senior Inspector Ereneo Ramirez, chief of the Crime Against Person and Property Desk (CAPPD)
  • Police officer 3 Alejandro Ubanan
  • Senior Police Officer 2 Jojo Lim
  • Senior Police Officer 1 Alaindelon Tacubao
  • Police Officer 2 Hussein Bolanio

The alleged kidnapping incident involved a certain Enrique Fernandez III as the victim, who is still missing.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) was able to identify the five policemen through an establishment’s closed-circuit television camera (CCTV) footages. They were tasked to handle the case according to Cariaga, just to avoid possible cover-ups or whitewash. He added that the CAPPD has been temporarily deactivated, to reorganize later.

At the Regional Police Holding and Accounting Office in Camp Vicente Alagar, Lapasan here in the city is where the relieved policemen were ordered to report to give way to a fair investigation with regards to the incident. This was according to Northern Mindanao police spokesperson Superintendent Surki Sereñas.
