The Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO), according to an article from SunStar, is transferring its headquarters at Claro M. Recto Avenue to the new building in Barangay 40.

The new building was finished in 2013 yet the police and city government had problems with the area’s electricity and water facilities installation which caused the delay of transfer.

Units of COCPO such as its administration, logistics, police community, relations unit, investigation, tourist police, and patrol unit already started moving to the new facility on Tuesday, May 2, 2017.

COCPO officials were also planned to transfer to the new 1000 square meter building near the city health office. However, City Public Safety Company (CPSC), intelligence, operation, detention center, and other units will remain at the old headquarters in Carmen Village.

The new building has a prison cell but is not yet ready so any detainees will remain in the old headquarter.

COCPO assures the public to expect better police mobilization and efficiency on their service to maintain the peace and order in the city
