Among more than 300 alleged police scalawags scheduled to be transported to Basilan for deployment, using the military’s two C130 cargo planes, due to the various cases they are facing including infraction of police regulations and involvement to criminal activities, only 53 police officers presented themselves in the sendoff at the Villamor Airbase in Pasay City last February 21, 2017, Tuesday morning.

In a report from Manila Bulletin, more than 150 cops said to have defied Duterte’s deployment order and according to Senior Supt. Dionardo Carlos who is the spokesman of the Philippine National Police (PNP), those who have refused to obey the order will be filed with additional cases and administrative charges against them based on a statement from the Regional Director of National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Oscar Albayalde.

Quoting Carlos, “First, they will be marked AWOL (Absent Without Official Leave) followed by the charged for defiance of lawful order from the Commander-In-Chief.”

Some 40 of the cops, according to Carlos, were excused from the deployment order after their appeal were granted by the NCRPO to delay their deployment for they still have court hearings to attend to.

Among the 53 cops who showed up, the lowest rank is a Police Officer 1 while the highest rank is a Chief Inspector (Major).
