During a sting operation in Puntod, a couple was arrested by authorities over the weekend for allegedly packing  illegal drugs inside a house they are renting.

In an article on SunStar.com, the drug suspects were identified as Omair Ampatua (38), from Baloi, Lanao del Norte and Ruzzelle Jeane Cabahug (18), from Valencia City, Bukidnon.

Authorities confiscated 100 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride otherwise known as “shabu” that has a street value of around P1 million. Along with the shabu found inside the house was a weighing scale for the illegal substance. The police suspected the couple may have packed “shabu” there since they were able to retrieve a weighing scale inside.

The suspects’ drug activities were under surveillance for two weeks, and the  authorities have since identified the couple to be high-valued targets.

Suspects will be facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
