To finally be established on September 2, Friday, is the expanded Davao International Container Terminal, Inc. (DICT) which amounted to P5 billion, and said to be Mindanao’s most modern container port terminal.

The DICT, which can be located in Panabo, specifically at the 63-hectare Anflo Industrial Estate, offers world-class facilities and services. It will be of great help in ensuring the global competitiveness of export-grade products of Mindanao.

The said container port terminal was formerly known as San Vicente Terminal and Brokerage Services, Inc and has a long history in port operations. It used to provide services in stevedoring and arrastre requirements of fresh products’ break bulk shipments. Such products were bananas and pineapples at Tadeco wharf. To mention, Tadeco is considered as the global leader in the banana industry as to the terms of yield per hectare.

DICT is the joint venture between the multinational corporation Dole-Stanfilco and Anflo Management and Investment Corp (Anflocor) which both are the leading exporters and producers of fresh Cavendish bananas in the Philippines. It is being foresighted to become the industry leader in port logistics in the island and probably to address the increasing volume of cargoes that are being shipped through refrigerated containers.
