15 Feb Dead Oarfish Found in the Shores of Barra, Opol

A dead oarfish was found yesterday along the shores of Zone 1 Barra, Opol, Misamis Oriental.

For the past years, a lot of this particular species has been found dead all-over the Philippine shores. Though scientists think that these are caused by pollution or deep-sea activities, to some, sea creatures such as oarfish that end up in shallow water are a good predictor of earthquakes.
Furthermore, according to Japanese folklore, oarfish are nature’s version of prophets of doom.
