In an article by ABS-CBN News, the Department of Education is planning to rebuild 20 school buildings in Marawi CIty after it has been freed from the Maute-ISIS terrorist and claiming its liberation.

According to DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones, DepEd estimated through reports that there were 20 major school buildings that were totally destroyed in Marawi City and needs to be reconstructed with other buildings for repair works.

She added that more than 27,000 students from Marawi City went to nearby areas so that they can still continue with their studies under DepEd’s order for schools nationwide to admit war-affected students with or without necessary documents for admission.

DepEd will also be using nearly 3-4 billion pesos from the calamity fund money the said plan.
