10 Jan DOTr Bans Renewal of Beat-up Public Utility Vehicles

As of this week, both the LTFRB-10 and LTO-10 announced that they will no longer accept the renewal PUV registrations for old and defective vehicles this year.
This will apply to all operators and drivers intending for the renewal of PUV units in the agencies mentioned in Region 10.
LTFRB Regional Director- Allan Guro said this the Department of Transportation’s (DOTr) measure in order to progressively implement the PUV Modernization Program
Guro also stated that they are doing this while the number of new vehicles is still minimal.
Moreover, 200 PUV’s have already been seized by DOtr this week.
