DTI advisory on freezing prices during Martial Law

In view of the chaos that erupted in Marawi City, May 23, 2017, President Rodrigo R. Duterte decided to declare a Martial law in the entire island of Mindanao.

Pursuant to Section 6 of RA 7581 or the Price Act of the Philippines, prices of basic necessities are automatically frozen at their prevailing prices, which shall be the average price of the basic necessity within a month from the occurrence of the conditions brought about by the Declaration of Martial Law.

Unless sooner lifted by the President, price control of basic necessities shall remain effective for the duration of Martial Law, but not for more than sixty (60) days.
