In an article from Cagayan de Oro News Bulletin, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has examined the prices of prime commodities in the market last Tuesday (June 6).

This operation was headed by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez in coordination with the CDO City Price Coordinating Council (CDO-CPCC) to make sure prevent instances of businessmen increasing the prices of their trades due to the current situation in Marawi City.

The operation started in Cogon Market where they found out that prices of common goods are still the same.

The team also conducted a price inspection to canned goods, noodles, powdered milk, sugar, soap and other products in an establishment and other two warehouses in Barangay Kauswagan and Bulua.

According to Secretary Lopez’s assessment, there was no price increase on primary goods in the market and the condition of the supply of the different companies is still good.

He was also pleased with the obedience of businesses and hoped that it will continue to be like that even after DTI declared a price freeze in Mindanao due to the conflict in Marawi City.
