17 Jul Kagay-anon Edeliza Neri Successfully Defends Tawag ng Tanghalan Title
On Saturday, July 16, Edeliza Neri from Cagayan de Oro City successfully defended her title as the Champion of ABS-CBN’s It’s Showtime “Tawag ng Tanghalan.”
She barely edged her opponent Charles Tan by only .2 points ahead of him. Neri got 95.6 percent from the judges, while Tan got 95.4 percent.
Neri sang Angela Bofill’s slow jazz song, “Break It To Me Gently,” while Tan sang Shirley Bassey’s “You and I.”
Neri will then again perform on Monday and push her way to have an automatic slate into the semifinals.
Neri pursued this path of her career to support the medical expenses of her son who has cerebral palsy.
