Misamis Oriental Governor Yevgeny Emano is urging stakeholders to support his vision to turn the province into a major exporter of farm products.
In an article from Sunstar Cagayan de Oro, Emano hinted that MisOr has the kind of land and climate suitable for developing the province’s agricultural sector particularly fruit and vegetable production.
Emano said during the 3rd Climate and Agriculture Summit held recently at a hotel in Cagayan de Oro City that by the fruition of his vision is well within five to 15 years time wherein the province can enjoy a sustainable, prosperous, and bountiful society.
With that, Emano is also encouraging local officials to give their support to his plans which will not only benefit the economy of the province but would also open a lot of opportunities for Misamisnons.
The governor also seconded the advocacy of Philip Morris Fortune Tobacco Corporation against climate change. He said that something must be done to counteract the phenomena since it will also greatly affect the condition of agricultural lands due to the changing and unpredictable runs of weather.
