Firearms, short, long and high-powered, and ammunition for RPG, AK47, M203, M79 were just some of the 200 confiscated, surrendered and recovered weapons from different rebel groups destroyed by the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ (AFP) 4th Infantry Division last October 26, 2016, Wednesday.

And with at least 28 New People’s Army (NPA) members who surrendered to the government from July to September of this year, surrendered to the military were Thirty-four other firearms and 47 improvised explosive devices.

According to AFP officials, since President Rodrigo Duterte declared his war against illegal drugs, confiscated in the area were methamphetamine hydrochloride and marijuana amounting to P28.2 million. Even soldiers were brought under random drug testing, the government’s push to remove ranks involved in illegal drugs, with 11 members of the 4th Infantry Division who tested positive will be dismissed from service.
