Cagayan de Oro City Councilor Leon Gan said that a probe to investigate the “suspicious approval” of 450 job order (JO) employees of the J.R. Borja General Hospital should be conducted.

In an article from Sunstar.com, Gan said that he was able to get hold of the copy of the pre-approved list of the 450 hired JO’s from the city hospital and insisted that an inquiry must be conducted on why a big number of JO’s should be hired to work at the hospital.

He added that the city council should be informed as to where the 450 JO’s will be going since it is from the city council where the budget will be coming from, and, if there are bases for hiring as many JO’s, any concern will not be brought up.

Meanwhile, City Councilor Ma. Lourdes Gaane came to defend the hospital and said that it is in the hiring of the 450 JO’s that the hospital will be able to cater the 200-300 patients who are coming to the hospital on a daily basis.

She also clarified that the workers are existing employees of the hospital and will be a big help to the 24/7 operation of the hospital.
