Gov’t Officials Prohibit Marawi Residents To Go Back to Their Homes Due To Unhealthy Environment

In an article posted by Bombo Radyo Cagayan de Oro, Local Government officials discouraged the displaced families of the Marawi City siege to go back to their original homes even though the presence of the Maute-ISIS terrorists is now nearing its end.

Lanao del Sur 2nd District Board Member, Abdulhamid Amerbitor, gave the warning due to the unsanitary environment the war has which may bring diseases to the residents.

He added that the restriction was based on the dengue disease contracted by over 100 soldiers after staying in some areas of the city for more than four months.

The only time that the residents will be allowed to go back to their residences after the areas will be sanitized.
