In an article published by Sunstar.com, an inter-religious group plead to the public to stop disseminating false reports and articles which circulates throughout cyberspace and can bring confusion and false beliefs to the public especially to the displaced families of the continued gunfire exchanges between the military and Maute terrorist group in Marawi City.

According to the Bishops-Ulama Conference (BUC), the public should use their time instead for praying and hoping for the safety of the victims of the conflict.

BUC is comprised of  Catholic bishops, Protestant bishops, and pastors, and Muslim Ulama who are aiming for the improvement of the relationship and engagement between Muslims and Christians. The organization also aims to help in the relief efforts for the victims of the Marawi discord.

Meanwhile, reports said that the total number of Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) who immigrated Marawi City since May 23 have reached 51, 651 families or a total of  252,282 individuals.

According to the Department of Social and Welfare Development (DSWD), the sum of help given to the evacuees has already amounted to P43.713 million wherein P41.846 million came from the agency’s funds,  P27.475 million has been allocated for food, and P14.370 for other forms of assistance.
