Some Korean businessmen express their interest in helping the province of Misamis Oriental in developing promising projects particularly the silk industry.

According to a report from Sun.Star, some Koreans namely, Simon Bake and Phillip Park paid a visit to Misamis Oriental Governor Yevgeny “Bambi” Emano on February 22, Wednesday.

These businessmen are willing to invest in the flourishing silk industry and other government sectors, such as health, infrastructure, and agriculture, said Nicole Managbanag, Provincial Information Officer.

She said that they were instructed to make an unlimited ‘wish list’ as long as it is intended for the development of hospitals, assisting farmers and fisherfolks and to infrastructure developments.

She added that the goal of these Korean businessmen is to help those industries with the potential to grow not just here in the Philippines but also in the international stage, such as the silk industry.

The province with the support from the Department of Trade and Industry will increase the silk-weaving communities in other municipalities.

Managbanag also said that the extensive goal is to establish a silkworm plant with complete machinery to supply a larger market.
