In an article published by Inquirer.com, several days after the ongoing crisis in Marawi City, a lot of the affected teachers still remain unaccounted for.

According to Marawi City Assistant School Division Superintendent,  Zenaida Unte, as of June 10, 2017, the Department of Education (DepEd) has not yet received any reports of the more than 700 public school teachers on their conditions.

Moreover, classes have not yet resumed in Marawi City since all public schools were shut down or destroyed after the attacked.

However, the City Schools Division Office is opened and operated by employees who are helping the ARMM humanitarian response.

As of the same date, there are only 675 teachers assigned in the city who informed DepEd officials about their safety and whereabouts.

The missing teachers, Unte said, might have lost their mobile phones when they started seeking safety starting May 23 while some other students have moved and enrolled in other areas outside Marawi City.

DepEd has instructed all public schools outside Marawi City to accept transferees who escaped the attacks of Marawi City.
