20 Jun Maute bandits use drone to monitor, evade military offensive

In a report from GMA News, while the Arm Forces of the Philippines are using drones to monitor terrorist movements, the Maute bandits have been using drones as well to observe and evade military offensive.
In a video report by GMA’s Jun Veneracion Maute members were seen flying a drone while chanting “Allahu Akbar” before ascending into the frontlines.
This has been confirmed by Lt. Col. Jo-Ar Herrera, spokesperson of the Joint Task Force Marawi, who have said they first saw the drone used in the first week of battle in the city.
Meanwhile, the military is still extricating Maute members who are hiding in civilian houses using tear gasses. A total 242 Maute members have been killed so far.
