In an article from CDO Infonet, Mayor Oscar Moreno leads the ceremony for honoring the former leaders and businessmen who contributed to the rapid development of Cagayan de Oro City.
The unveiling of the Portrait of the Authors of the City Charter, Former Vice President Emmanuel Pelaez, Former Mayor Max Suniel, and Former Congressman Pedro Baculio was held last June 15 at Kiosko Kagawasan, Divisoria.
Several city personalities witnessed the event which includes the Pelaez family, relatives of the Suniel and Baculio family, along with Majority Floor Leader Ian Mark Nacaya, Mayor Edna Dahino and City Historical Commission Chairperson Dr. Erlinda Burton.
June 15 was also declared as a special nonworking public holiday as Cagayan de Oro Charter Day through the Republic Act No. 7670 that was made possible by the awarded personalities.
Furthermore, Mayor Moreno also awarded to the Chairman Emeritus of the Cagayan de Oro Filipino-Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc., Mr. Tirso S. Limbonhai, a plaque of recognition for his contribution in putting up classroom buildings at different public schools in the city.
