04 Jun Mayor Moreno Faces Two Additional Corruption Cases

Mga higala! Mayor Oscar Moreno has been charged with two additional graft cases before the Sandiganbayan Fifth Division due to an alleged anomalous release of an excavator for Misamis Oriental during his time as a governor.
According to a report by Manila Bulletin, Moreno was accused of violating Section 3(e) of Republic Act 3019 or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act together with provincial administrator Patrick Gabutina, acting provincial budget officer Elmer Wabe, acting provincial Accountant Divina Bade, and assistant provincial engineer Rolando Pacuribot.
Moreno and the other accused officials reportedly awarded a contract for the lease or rental of one excavator to Equipment Corporation with the total amount of P3,974,250 without a public bidding and without any proper reason to resort to an alternative mode of procurement.
