Kagay-anon boxer Milan “El Metodico” Melindo remains the IBF Junior Flyweight Title Holder after defeating his South African contender Hekkie Budler in the boxing event titled “Pinoy Pride 42” at the Waterfront Hotel, Cebu last September 16, 2017.

In an article from ABS-CBN News Online, Melindo successfully defended his current title earned him several injuries from Budler who turned out to be a tough enemy to defeat.

Due to the intensity of the fight, areas near both of his eyes were cut during the 6th and 10th rounds.

In the 12th round, he got the chance to stun Budler with a left-hand blow in which afterward the South African fighter stood back to his feet and clashed with Melindo until the last second.

At the end of the fight, the judges’ unanimous decision favored Melindo with 117-110, 115-112, and 113-115.

The Filipino’s latest feat improved his world record to 37 wins versus 2 defeats.
