MINDANAO TO HOST BUDAYAW FESTIVAL

In an article from Sunstar.com, the Budayaw Festival of Culture and Arts will be hosted in Mindanao this coming September 20 to 24, 2017.

The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) will be organizing the 5-day activity with the collaboration of the  Mindanao Development Authority and the Department of Tourism.

According to the Chief of the NCCA Program Monitoring and Evaluation division, Mindanao’s hosting of the festival is the best time to make the effort to refine the image of Mindanao and to show that it is a place where beauty and safety come hand in hand.

The Budayaw Festival will feature the culture, heritage, and artistry from the Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia- Philippines East Asean Growth Area (Bimp-Eaga).

The event serves as a venue to express the diversity from the cultural masters and artists in the Bimp-Eaga region with its objective to increase awareness and nurture the love of people for their land of origins.

The festival will have different lectures, workshops, performances, shows, and exhibits which will revolve around the promotion of awareness and oneness between multicultural people in Bimp-Eaga.

As of this writing, the venue for the event is yet to be finalized by the organizers.
