Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) will represent the country in the first ever “ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Makerthon” to be held at the Cyberjaya, Malaysia on September 8-12, 2017 with “DemenTrack”, an IOT-based tracking technology for individuals who are suffering from a neural disease called Dementia where patients are subject to memory loss and have the tendency to wander out of  their caretaker’s view.

The aim of the project is to track individuals who are diagnosed with Dementia within a predefined zone through a computer technology device worn by the patient which sends data back to a second person who monitors the area covered by the patient’s movement. When the patient goes beyond the predefined zone. In cases when the patient goes beyond the determined area, the device worn by the patient then sends a warning to the monitoring party through their mobile app and continue with the tracking using GPS.

Let us show our support to our fellow Mindanaoans by downloading the DemenTrack App on Google Play or Apple Store and make a difference for our loved ones who are needing special attention.
