Philippine National ID To Be Available Soon; Pilot Testing To Start This December 2018

Mga higala! The registrations for the PHILIPPINE NATIONAL ID will be available to all Filipinos soon!

According to Superbalita Cebu, a pilot testing will start this December 2018 in the areas of National Capital Region, Cavite-Laguna-Batangas-Quezon (Calabarzon) and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

As you can see from the sample photo above, this ID will contain a person’s full name, birth date, gender, and the date of registration. It will also have a QR code and may include a person’s mobile number, marital status, blood type, and address.

To register it will also require an updated picture, fingerprints, an Iris Scan, and other identifiable features.

Where to register for the National ID?

A year after this implementation, all Filipinos must register on the regional or provincial offices of PSA, Local Civil Registry Offices, Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), Social Security System (SSS), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth), Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF), Commission on Elections (Comelec), Philippine Postal Corporation (PhilPost), and other government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCC).

What are the requirements?

Those who want register may present their Birth Certificate.

Is there any payment needed to acquire this ID?

No payment will be required upon registration. But, if you lose yours and want to get a new one, you will need to pay a fee based on the implementing rules and regulations (IRR) for the national ID.

Will the National ID expire?

NO. Your national ID and number will be valid for the rest of your life, and cannot be transferred or used by anyone else.
