PNP Reminds CdeO Motorists

Project Lupad, CDOdev

Kagay-anons! The Cagayan de Oro Police Office (COCPO) would like to remind motorists to be more careful on the road. Especially at night when driving along the Coastal Road Gusa-Agora section.

In a bomboradyo.com article, according to COCPO spokesperson, C/Insp. Mardi Hortillosa, they are currently increasing awareness regarding accidents due to the lack of proper lighting in the area.

The police force would also like to discourage the public from staying on the coastal road for far too long. Additional security measures are yet to be implemented so it’s best if we cooperate in reducing the possible dangers to our fellow motorists and residents.

It really doesn’t make any difference whether the new coastal highway is lit. The combination of heavy trucks going at high speed and people driving slowly or walking along to enjoy the view is going to be a never-ending source of accidents. The only thing that will lower the accident rate is a reasonable speed limit to slow the speeding vehicles down, and constant enforcement by police along the new coastal highway to ensure that the low speed is maintained.
