In an article from Sunstar CDeO, two dubious foreigners have been cleared after they were brought to the Police Regional Office (PRO)- Northern Mindanao in Barangay Lapasan last Wednesday night, May 24 for questioning.

According to Police Chief Inspector, Ariel Philip Pontillas, of Cagayan de Oro Police Office Intelligence Unit (CIU), they responded to a report from Talakag Bukidnon of the presence of a supposedly Indonesian man that the residents found suspicious.

They found out that the person was not Indonesian but instead a  Chinese national who was identified as Lin Yue Ting. According to him,  he traveled from Manila and went to Bukidnon for a business transaction. He was brought to Camp Alagar for questioning.

On the other hand, Chief Inspector Mardy Hortillosa from the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) said that another foreigner was also brought to Camp Alagar on the same night for questioning.

Both foreigners were released on the same night after their identities were verified by their respective embassies.

The operation was part of their tight security measures to prevent similar attacks following the Marawi siege.
