Python Conference (PyCon) 2017 in CDO: Introducing You to the New World of Technology With Python

Calling all geeks and programming enthusiasts! Python.PH in partnership with the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTSP) and PyTsada meetup group, will hold a Python Conference (PyCon) here in Cagayan de Oro City.

This conference will be a two-day event to be held on February 25 and 26, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m. at the USTSP, Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City. With three keynote speakers namely, Jeff Knupp, Manoj Pandey and Evamay Dela Rosa, this will surely be a fun and informative conference.

Software engineers, programming enthusiasts,  startup founders, corporate IT decision makers, students and IT educators alike are encouraged to attend this two-day event where learning, sharing and collaboration are to be fostered.

PyCon PH, with the theme “The Python Ecosystem” will cover interesting topics such as the use of Python in robotics, smart farms, Philippine micro-satellites, solar power technologies, web applications, and data science.

This is the first for Python.PH to have this huge event in Mindanao as they aim to have a better engagement in local Python groups and discover and reach out to a wider pool of local talent.

Several universities and campuses were once hosting this conference like Ateneo de Manila, De La Salle University, and several UP Campuses.

The participants will be given insights into the growing world of programming, Python and its use cases in these fields on the first day of the conference.

And on the second day, hands-on workshops on test Driven Development, Writing and Consuming APIs and an Introduction to Satellite Data Processing will be conducted.

Students of USTSP will also present their projects involving Python in a student research forum. Speakers and representatives from Python.PH will be part of the panels who will witness the project developed by the students.
