RTA Publishes Route for Black Nazarene Procession

Following the upcoming Traslacion of the Black Nazarene on January 9, the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) together with the police has announced their plans on traffic routes to avoid road congestions.

According to a report from Sun.Star, the authorities are expecting at least 20,000 Catholic devotees to join the procession.

The route of the religious procession will still be the same and that it would commence at 4:30 a.m. from Pelaez Sports Center to Velez Street, then to Julio-Pacana Street, Gaabucayan Street, Agora, Valenzuela road, C.M. Recto Avenue and will conclude at the Nazareno Church.

The replica of the Black Nazarene will be transferred to Pelaez Sports Center the night before the procession. There will also be a Holy Mass and an overnight vigil in the said area.

The procession will possibly last until 7 a.m., said RTA Administrative Officer Nonito Oclarit in a TV interview.

The rerouting strategy will also be published for the affected motorists during the procession.
