Philippine distillery giant, San Miguel Corporation, is soon to put up it’s newest brewery in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental. In a report by Sunstar.com, the brewery is said to be built in a 54-hectare area which is its second site in Mindanao after Davao.

With an estimated budget of P6 Billion, the need for manpower to carry out this project is also seen as an opportunity for generating thousands of jobs especially in the field of engineering.

On the other hand, the strategic location of Tagoloan made San Miguel Brewery (SMB) President, Roberto Huang, to choose the area where its next gigantic brewery is soon to rise. It is also the abundant water supply of the area why it got the approval of Mr. Huang.

True enough, the high demand for San Miguel products in Mindanao is also one of the reasons why the company ventured on this project since most of their liquors and drinks are still have to be shipped to Mindanao from their other locations around the Philippines.

Apart from the new plant, the company also looks to expand its bottling facilities and its distribution systems to different parts of the country which will create more jobs and contribute to the progress of the countryside.

Tagoloan Mayor, Heckert Emano, was happy about the project as it will help more people in Tagoloan and in the nearby towns and barangay in terms of job opportunities. He also thanked PHIVIDEC for expressing great who invited many companies to invest to the municipality.

In two years time, the project is projected to be finished.
