A temporary special travel advisory was issued in Cagayan de Oro City and Davao by Seoul’s foreign ministry in South Korea to protect South Korean citizens who are now living in the two Mindanao areas covered by President Rodrigo Duterte’s Martial Law.

In an article posted on world.kbs.co.kr, under the travel advisory, a red alert travel warning is also imposed wherein South Koreans are likewise advised to cancel or delay their flights to affected areas in Mindanao. Also, those who are now in areas attacked by terrorist-rebels are encouraged to leave.

Additionally, a special travel alert was also ordered by the foreign ministry to other Mindanao places where violence and crime are usually reported.

The ministry also said that it will closely monitor the conditions in various places in the island-region to determine whether to continue the travel advisory or not.
