University of the Philippines (UP) student Arman Ali Ghodsinia from Marawi City graduated summa cum laude with an undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (MBB) and was announced to be the one to deliver the valedictory address on this weekend’s graduation rites of the state university.
In an article from Interaksyon.com, UP Diliman Chancellor Michael Tan announced on Monday, June 19, in a university meeting that Ghodsinia has been selected to deliver the valedictory address for this year’s graduation rites.
The achievement of Ghodsinia came as a light diversion to the ongoing armed conflict in his home city Marawi City.
Ghodsinia attended grade school at Ateneo de Manila University and his secondary at Philippine Science High School.
Last January, he won first prize in the 25th Federation of ASEAN and Oceanian Biochemists and Molecular Biologists (FAOBMB) search for outstanding work in that field.
