According to an article by Inquirer.Net suspected Abu Sayyaf bandits have beheaded two unidentified persons in a remote area of Sumisip, Basilan on Thursday, January 4, 2018.

The report stated that Basilan Police Director- Sr. Supt. Nickson Muksan got the information from a military police officer.

Inquirer.Net repeatedly tried to get more details from the military but their call and texts were either unreceived or ignored.

As of now, they still don’t have the identities of the supposed victims, who were beheaded in Barangay Mahatalang.

Muksan also stated during a phone call that: “We were informed of the incident but we don’t have the identities of the victims. A top military official in Basilan informed us that the male victim is a relative of the Abu Sayyaf.”

As some of us may remember, Mahatalang is a known lair of the Abu Sayyaf and had been the target of recent military operations.
