04 Mar Task force formed to investigate Dr. Dreyfuss Perlas’ death

To intensify police investigations on Dr. Dreyfuss Perlas’ death, the Provincial Headquarters Command of Lanao del Norte has created Task Force Perlas. The Municipal Health Officer of Sapad was shot by unidentified men last March 1 in Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte.
According to reports from Sunstar, the doctor was shot Wednesday evening while on board his motorcycle to his rented house in Kapatagan. Witnesses initially thought the doctor was having a heart attack and later found out that he sustained gunshot wound on his back.
The police said the Task Force Perlas will thoroughly investigate the doctor’s death and is composed of personnel from the police intelligence unit, Criminal investigation and Detection Group, Scene of the Crime Operatives, the military, and other law enforcement agencies.
They will examined if the doctor was under threat since he was being tailed during the incident. Autopsy reports revealed that Perlas’ was shot at the back and the bullet entered his heart and lungs.
Dr. Drefuss Perlas was in Kapatagan for One-Stop Shop Medical Mission in the village of Karkum.
